GRIP

GRIP - Green in Practice is a Norwegian foundation promoting sustainable consumption and production (SCP). GRIP was established by the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment in 1995. Our office is in the centre of Oslo.

GRIP's activities and projects are funded by many different partners including public authorities, organisations and private companies. Our goal is to help develop environmental processes and solutions that are both practically viable and market-oriented. Our main areas of work include:

  • Environmental criteria in public procurement
  • Implementing environmental management systems (e.g. ISO, EMAS, Eco-Lighthouse)
  • Managing greenhouse gas emissions
  • Developing sustainable/eco-tourism

Hosting conferences and seminars is an important part of our work. GRIP also hosts the annual Glass Bear Award for Environmental Excellence.

Read more about GRIP in our award winning Environmental Report for 2006 (pdf, English).
